frachtkante

A place for club culture, urban practice, and community at the former Tegel Airport.

Frachtkante, located on the TXL model area, is opening its doors as an interdisciplinary cultural space. We are developing a hub that not only provides space for the Berlin scene but also functions as a vibrant site for artistic production, cultural participation, and social encounter.

Our Vision & Values

Our events aim to represent the diversity of the scene and Berlin’s club culture while bringing people from different backgrounds together. We want to create spaces for exchange, collective celebration, learning, and mutual support. It is essential to us to amplify cultural, political, and social perspectives beyond dominant narratives and to treat all participants with respect, mindfulness, and responsibility.

Frachtkante is community-oriented, solidary, public-good-oriented, and critical of discrimination. We want to ensure that this space meets the needs of the people who fill it with life. That is why we consciously share resources and visibility to actively promote access, participation, and representation.

You can find our current Code of Conduct for the operation of Frachtkante here.

What to Expect

From April 2026, we will transition into continuous operation—initially on the outdoor grounds with a view of the runway and, in the future, also in the indoor areas. Frachtkante is built for both large and small formats. Whether it’s club nights, mini-festivals, and concerts, or theater, readings, flea markets, and workshops, all the way to rehearsal spaces and solidarity projects: we want diverse formats to find their place here and support one another. Almost anything is possible, so come by and help us shape the space!

The development of the TXL model area is funded by the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion. This process is implemented by the Clubcommission Berlin e.V. in cooperation with Kulturraum Berlin gGmbH and the office of the Berlin Project Fund for Urban Practice of the Foundation for Cultural Education and Cultural Consulting.
